Security forces and CTD conducted joint operation in limits of Choura police station in Mardan


Mardan: The security forces and Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) killed four terrorists of banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) during a joint operation in Mardan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the details, security forces and CTD received information about the presence of four terrorists belonging to TTP in Mardan district.
Following that, the security forces and CTD conducted a joint operation in the limits of Choura police station in Mardan, during which the terrorists opened fire on the security personnel.
As a result of retaliatory action by the security forces, four terrorists of the outlawed TTP were killed.

On the other hand, more than 2,000 policemen and officers were martyred since 1970 in the war against terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the official document, 367 policemen and officers were martyred in Peshawar, 239 in Bannu, 234 in Dera Ismail Khan, 121 in Mardan, and 104 policemen in Swat.
Apart from this, 111 personnel of the elite force were also martyred across the province. One policeman was martyred in 54 years in the tribal district of Kuram, two in Torghar and Kohistan each, four were martyred in the tribal district of Mehmand.
It is pertinent to note that the report issued by the Islamabad-based think tank Pakistan Institute for Peace Studies (PIPS) recorded 27 terrorist attacks in Pakistan in June, 21 of these in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and six in Balochistan. The number of such attacks last month was 36.
The outlawed TTP and other local Taliban groups claimed responsibility for 21 terrorist attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing 28 people, including 19 security and law enforcement personnel.
According to the report, the security forces and counter-terrorism department police conducted five operations against suspected militants in June, up from 10 in the previous month, killing 17 suspected militants and injuring three.
four out of five reported operations took place in Bannu and Lakki Marwat districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while one operation was conducted in Karachi.
