Civil Judge, wife injured in elevator collapse in Hafizabad
While using the elevator to reach the upper floor, the elevator suddenly malfunctioned and fell
Hafizabad: Civil Judge Sajid Bilal and his wife sustained injuries after an elevator at a local hotel collapsed in Hafizabad district on Saturday.
The incident took place last night when Judge Sajid Bilal Sidhu and his wife visited the hotel for dinner. While using the elevator to reach the upper floor, the elevator suddenly malfunctioned and fell. As a result, Judge Bilal suffered fractures to both legs, and his wife sustained severe injuries.
The emergency rescue teams transported the injured couple to a trauma center, where their critical condition necessitated their transfer to Faisalabad for further treatment.
Rescue sources reported that the judge and his wife had originally planned to use the stairs but were advised by hotel staff to take the elevator. The elevator malfunctioned and collapsed near the upper floor.
In response to the incident, the local authorities sealed the hotel and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the elevator's failure.
