Zindagi to withdraw Barzakh content from YouTube amid criticism
Series ignited controversy due to its “provocative” subject matter on the social media

Lahore: Zee Zindagi on Tuesday decided to withdraw contentious series “Barzakh” from YouTube Pakistan in response to considerable criticism.
The series, helmed by Asim Abbasi, ignited controversy due to its “provocative” subject matter on the social media.
Despite amassing over four million views, Zee Zindagi opted to retract the show to prevent estranging its audience. The series boasts a distinguished ensemble cast comprising Fawad Khan, Sanam Saeed, M. Fawad Khan, Salman Shahid, Khushhal Khan, Sajid Hasan, Uzma Beg and Nighat Choudhry.
A statement on Zee Zindagi’s Instagram expressed gratitude to viewers for their support and elucidated the rationale behind the decision.
The concluding episode is set to air tonight at 8 PM, and Pakistani viewers have until August 9 to view the series on YouTube.
The series elicited a spectrum of responses, with some lauding its audacious narrative while others condemned its content as lacking “family-friendly” orientation.
