Management decides to shut down its restaurant in compliance of the top court verdict

Islamabad: Monal restaurant management on Wednesday announced that they would shut down their outlet at Margalla Hill in Islamabad this year on September 11.
The management took this decision after the Supreme Court ordered to shut down all the restaurants including Monal in the area.
Monal has been running the restaurant at Margalla National Park since 2006 in Islamabad as part of an initiative to conserve the park’s extensive biodiversity, and it is the favorite place for both residents and visitors.
The ruling followed a legal case scrutinizing the legitimacy of such businesses operating within the protected zones.
The top court had ruled that all restaurants in the national park must cease their operations and be dismantled within three-month period.
Nevertheless, the park’s ecological integrity has been blatantly jeopardized by human encroachment and traffic which necessitated the court’s resolute intervention.
