Pakistani actors call Arshad’s victory a ‘moment of pride’

Lahore: The stars of Pakistan showbiz industry called Arshad Nadeem—who created history by winning the gold medal in javelin throw competitions in the Paris Olympics— as the pride of the nation.
The actors expressed good wishes for the nation's hero on various social networking sites.
Actress Mahira Khan and actor Shahryar Munawar congratulated the athlete and said that the Pakistani flag has been raised in the Olympic field.

Actors Sana Javed, Ramsha Khan and actor Ahad Raza Mir also expressed happiness on this historic moment.
They thanked Arshad for this wonderful achievement that the whole nation is feeling proud because of him.

Actresses Kubra Khan and Sajal Ali were also not far behind in congratulating the only player to win a gold medal for Pakistan individually.
They congratulated the player while sharing Instagram story.

Actresses Hania Aamir, Humaima Malik, and Iqra Aziz also congratulated the player.
Iqra Aziz tagged Arshad Nadeem in her Instagram story and said that he made the entire nation proud along with his mother, while Humaima also raised the slogan of Pakistan Zindabad.

Sanam Jung, Hira Mani and Kinza Hashmi also congratulated the athlete and wished him well.
They also thanked him for giving them a few moments of happiness with this success during the difficult times of the country.

Actress Ayman Khan called Arshad Nadeem a champion, while Ayeza Khan and Yumna Zaidi called him the pride of the nation and congratulated him for setting a new record.

Singer Asim Azhar, actors Humayun Saeed, Ahmed Ali Butt, Usman Khalid Butt, and many other artists expressed good wishes for the player while singer Ali Zafar also announced a reward of Rs1 million for him.
Actor Usman Khalid Butt not only congratulated Arshad, but also commented on his rival Neeraj Chopra's mother's message for Arshad Nadeem.
Seeing the love and affection of Neeraj Chopra's mother for Arshad Nadeem, the actor prayed that the friendship between the national and Indian athlete Neeraj should continue and grow.
It is pertinent to note that Pakistan has won gold medal in Paris Olympics after 40 years.
Pakistan last stepped on the Olympics medal podium on August 8, 1992 when the national hockey team defeated the Netherlands by four goals to three to win the bronze medal at the Barcelona Olympics. The gold medal was won by the hockey team.
Arshad Nadeem is the first athlete to win gold medals for Pakistan in individual events.
