Sao Paulo: In the Brazilian state of São Paulo, a plane crash has claimed the lives of all 62 individuals on board.
The twin-engine turboprop aircraft, operated by Voepass, was en route from Cascavel, located in Paraná’s southern region, to São Paulo’s main airport. The plane went down in the town of Vinhedo.
Video clips circulating on social media capture the aircraft spiraling downwards before crashing. The flight had 58 passengers along with four crew members, and unfortunately, no one survived the accident, as confirmed by local authorities.
The aircraft crashed into a residential area; however, no one on the ground was harmed. Only one house within a local condominium complex sustained damage, but its residents escaped injury. Images aired by Brazil’s GloboNews show a significant fire and wreckage amid a densely populated neighborhood. Police and fire services are actively responding to the scene, and nearby hospitals have been placed on alert.
According to the tracking website Flightradar24, the plane was manufactured in 2010 and took off from Cascavel at 11:56 AM local time (14:56 GMT). The aircraft’s final signal was received approximately an hour and a half later.

He later shared his grief on social media, offering his solidarity to the families and friends of those lost. Additionally, the governor of São Paulo state, Tarcísio de Freitas, is en route to the crash site, and the state government has dispatched emergency teams to assist with the situation.
