Heavy monsoon spell across country, waterlogging in low-lying areas

Lahore: Heavy monsoon spells have spread all over the country causing waterlogging in the low-lying areas.

The torrential rain has turned Lahore weather pleasant. Water accumulated in low-lying areas due to which the citizens are facing transportation difficulties.

On the other hand, it rained heavily in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, while in Narowal, Patoki, Minchanabad, and other cities, roads started to look like ponds due to heavy rain.

The weather has become pleasant in different areas of Karachi due to some light and some heavy rains, while the rains have caused flooding in Haripur's streams and rivers, and the residents of the area are facing problems due to the inundation of low-lying areas.

Traffic advisory in Murree

While, a special traffic advisory was issued for tourists coming to Murree.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Murree Beenish Fatima said that a driving license, and fitness certificate for public service vehicles are mandatory to enter Murree. The SOPs should be strictly implemented for entry of large vehicles. The tourists should choose the perfect vehicle to visit Murree.

She advised to keep the wipers and lights of the vehicle in perfect condition and avoid speeding due to slippery roads and dangerous turns. Do not violate one way and wrong overtaking while driving, all roads in Murree are two-way so avoid making double lines.

Beenish Fatima said that tourists should not park their vehicles on the road and take pictures so that the flow of traffic is not affected. Cooperation with the traffic wardens and district police officers standing on the highways is mandatory.

Chief Traffic Officer Murree instructed the force that the traffic officers and officials should perform traffic duties honestly. The tourists coming to Murree should not face any kind of difficulties. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Traffic Murree and other officers should stay in the field and provide all possible facilities to the tourists. Murree is a hilly area, therefore, the implementation of SOPs should be ensured.
