ISPR statement did not provide any details regarding the names and ranks of the three officers


Rawalpindi: The Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army said that three more retired army officers were taken into custody.
According to the details, ISPR stated that further investigation is underway against some retired officers and their associates.
ISPR added that the three officers were taken into custody in connection with the court martial of former Directro general (DG) Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Faiz Hameed. They have been found guilty of violating military discipline.
It is pertinent to note that the ISPR statement did not provide any details regarding the names and ranks of the three officers.
Notably on August 12, the former DG of ISI, Lt. Gen. (Retd) was taken into custody and the process of field general court martial has been initiated against them.
According to the ISPR, the Court of Inquiry of Top City was started against former DG ISI Lieutenant General Retired Faiz following the order of the Supreme Court.
ISPR said that in the light of the decision of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, disciplinary action under the Pakistan Army Act has been initiated against Lt. Gen. (Rtd) Faiz Hameed.
Later, on August 13, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif claimed that the circumstances and events of the May 9 tragedy also point to Faiz Hameed, but he was not the only one involved.
On August 15, founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former Prime Minister Imran Khan claimed that former Army Chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa, at the behest of Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif, had joined the ISI. Faiz Hameed was removed from the post, on which he had a bitter conversation with the former army chief.
