Punjab Laptop Scheme to boost students’ learning
The primary goal of the scheme is to expand learning opportunities for students, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds, and equip them for the digital age. The initiative is known for its thorough planning and wide-reaching impact, ensuring that deserving students receive the necessary support.
While the official launch and registration dates for the Punjab CM Laptop Scheme 2024 have yet to be announced, updates are expected soon.
In addition to the laptop scheme, the Chief Minister has also initiated a transportation program for female students, starting with the provision of buses to 60 girls' colleges throughout the province in its first phase.
A meeting to discuss these initiatives was attended by Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Principal Secretary to the CM Sajid Zafar Dal, and Secretary of Higher Education Dr. Farrukh Naveed.
Punjab CM Laptop Scheme 2024
The Punjab CM Laptop Scheme 2024 is designed to enhance digital literacy and access to education by providing laptops to students from public universities, colleges, and technical institutions. The distribution process will span several months, involving stages like planning, selecting suppliers, logistics, student registration, and final distribution.
The Punjab government has allocated over Rs125 billion annually to support the educational expenses of 25,000 students, ensuring they receive comprehensive financial assistance. Additionally, the Chief Minister has mandated that the top-performing students from each education board in Punjab, along with their teachers, be recognized with awards.
Maryam Nawaz's administration has committed to fostering a more interactive and adaptable learning environment through two key initiatives: the PML-N’s flagship Laptop Scheme and a Scholarship Program. Relevant departments have been instructed to begin the registration process for both programs.
