Karachi Police clarify Nimra Khan incident as harassment
Actress Nimra Khan through a video message expresses satisfaction with the police’s efforts
Karachi: The fresh details on Sunday emerged regarding the recent viral video of actress Nimra Khan, in which she alleged a kidnapping attempt.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer Manisha Ropeta clarified that the incident was not an attempted abduction but a case of harassment.
According to SDPO Ropeta, the incident involved a lone assailant who acted independently. Nimra Khan, who initially feared being targeted due to her celebrity status, stated that any young woman could have been in her place during the incident.
In a separate video released by Karachi Police, Nimra Khan expressed satisfaction with the police’s efforts. "I am relieved to know that no one is after my life. The Karachi police have worked diligently to collect evidence and investigate the case," she said. Khan also voiced confidence that the police would soon apprehend the perpetrator and deliver justice.

The incident, which occurred on August 11, took place outside a hotel in Karachi’s Defence area. While waiting for her family, Khan was approached by three armed men who attempted to force her into a car at gunpoint. One of the assailants placed a gun against her abdomen, prompting her to scream and fight back. She managed to escape unharmed but noted that no bystanders intervened.
Khan’s original video, in which she recounted the ordeal, went viral earlier this month, drawing widespread attention to the incident.
