Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Saturday expressed serious concern over the indifference shown by state institutions in the case involving the disappearance of two brothers of Azhar Mashwani.

Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb issued a written order, condemning the lack of progress made by authorities in locating the missing individuals.

The order described the state institutions' response as "highly discouraging" and noted that the whereabouts of Mashwani's brothers remain unknown.

In his remarks, Justice Aurangzeb highlighted the government's inadequate response to the court, calling it weak and insufficient.

The Deputy Attorney General assured the court that efforts would be made to bring the matter to the attention of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. However, the court found the government's assurances lacking in substance.

The order further noted the court's disappointment in the level of attention given to this case by the highest levels of the executive branch. Justice Aurangzeb emphasized that the issue deserved much greater focus from the government.

The court scheduled the next hearing, where the applicant's counsel will present additional arguments before the bench.
