Pakistan coronavirus death toll tops 22,000
Islamabad: Pakistan’s registered death toll from coronavirus infections rose towards 22,000, but some data suggested the spread of the disease has been contained.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 1,050 cases of coronavirus were reported while 30 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 22,007.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 949,175.
As many as 893,148 patients have recovered from the disease with 2,238 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 345,065 in the province with 10,642 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 332,254 in the province, while the death toll has reached 5,341.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 137,075 in the province with 4,269 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 26,633 confirmed cases while 301 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 19,967 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 571. On the other hand, there are 5,813 cases in GB with 108 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 82,368 cases in the capital city while 775 people have lost their lives.
