'Fear of arrest': PHC grants 10-day transit bail to Sanam Javed
Orders petitioner to appear in the concerned courts of Punjab
Peshawar: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Friday granted the 10-day transit bail to the PTI activist Sanam Javed, ordering her to appear in the concerned courts of Punjab.
Justice Dr Khurshid Iqbal heard PTI leader Sanam Javed's bail application. Sanam's lawyer Ali Zaman Advocate pleaded before the court that an FIR had been registered against his client in Lahore and another in Mianwali.
The judge asked the lawyer that Sanam's residence was in Lahore, so what was she doing in Peshawar? Did she know that cases had been registered against her?
Lawyer Zaman replied that this was his first application and he had not applied for bail anywhere before. The counsel further stated that his client was not being allowed to go inside the court, which is why the bail application was filed here [in the PHC].
The court then approved the 10-day transit bail so that Sanam could appear in courts in Punjab. The court also ordered to deposit of a bail bond of Rs100,000.
