Female harassment case: PM orders strict action after complaint lodged on Citizen Portal goes unaddressed
Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan has taken notice of the inaction of officers regarding citizens' complaints lodged on the Pakistan Citizen Portal app.

According to Prime Minister's Office (PMO), Imran Khan has expressed anger over negligence in a complaint lodged on Citizen Portal by a female who experienced harassment.
PM has directed Director General Federal Investigation Agency (DG FIA) to suspend concerned officers after conducting transparent inquiry.
The woman lodged five complaints on Pakistan Citizen Portal but FIA officials did not take any action. The woman had to quit her job at the university due to harassment and she approached FIA, the Prime Minister's Office said adding that the woman allegedly attempted suicide too due to lack of cooperation from the Federal Investigation Agency officials.
The Prime Minister's Office further stated that from December 16, 2019 to June 13, 2021, the FIA continued to ignore her and despite repeated complaints, the investigation agency failed to fulfill its responsibility.
The woman, along with her husband, reached the Prime Minister's Office to register complaint against the non-cooperative behavior of FIA officials and on her request strict action has been ensured against the concerned officials.
The Prime Minister's Delivery Unit has also issued a letter to the DG FIA saying that the matter should be investigated at the highest level and action should be taken against the concerned officers as per the rules.
The Prime Minister has directed to provide relief to the woman as soon as possible and the inquiry report will be submitted to the Prime Minister by July 20, 2021, the Prime Minister's Office said.
“No complaint on Citizen Portal will be ignored,” said PM while hinting at stern action against officers’ inaction on complaints lodged on portal.
