7mm of rain was recorded at Jail Road, 3mm in Gulberg, 12mm in Lakshmi Chowk in Lahore


Lahore: A new spell of monsoon has started across the country and the weather has become pleasant due to the rain in various cities including Lahore in the early morning.
In the provincial capital Lahore, light rain and heavy rain in some places turned the weather pleasant. It rained at Abbott Road, Shimla Pahari, Garhi Shahu and around the railway station with by heavy clouds due to which water accumulated in the low-lying areas and the district administration got hurried.
In the areas of Lahore, 7mm of rain was recorded at Jail Road, 3mm in Gulberg, 12mm in Lakshmi Chowk, 8mm in Paniwala Talab and 5mm at Qurtaba Chowk.
On the other hand, the Punjab cities of Safdarabad, Sangla Hill and surrounding areas were flooded with heavy rains. In Kalorkot, it rained with thunder and lightning while in Chiniot due to heavy rains, the low-lying areas were inundated which exposed the claims of the administration.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain with strong winds and thundershowers in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Potohar region, Islamabad, Northeast Punjab, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan today, while the weather will remain hot and dry in other parts of the country.
