Fifth mpox case in Peshawar
Experts and officials expressed serious concerns over the performance of Border Health Services staff
Peshawar: Due to the negligence of Border Health Services, the fifth case of monkeypox reached Peshawar from Islamabad.
In this regard, the authorities said that the man infected with monkeypox, coming from the Gulf country, arrived at the Islamabad Airport on September 7. Due to the negligence of the Border Health Services, the patient left the airport and reached Peshawar.
Officials said the victim stayed at a hotel and contacted a dermatologist in Peshawar. The man was tested at Khyber Medical University, which turned out positive for monkeypox.
Experts and officials expressed serious concerns over the performance of Border Health Services staff.
The technical working group says that surveillance at all points of entry and airports other than Peshawar is very poor.
