Bodybuilder shot dead for resisting robbery bid in Karachi
Karachi: A bodybuilder was shot dead on Saturday over putting up resistance to a robbery bid near Surjani Town, Karachi.
The deceased, Farooq Rafiq was a bodybuilding champion and had won multiple competitions. He also had crowned the titles of Karachi Champion and Mr Central.
Reportedly, Farooq died on the spot.
"Rafiq smashed a suspect’s head with glass," says police.
The body has been shifted to a hospital for post-mortem examination and further investigation is underway.
Earlier in January, two armed robbers snatched mobile phones of a husband and wife within the duration of ten seconds near Buffer zone area of Karachi.
Before that three armed robbers raided a grocery store and escaped with a haul of cash.
Karachi has been reporting many robberies for the past few weeks, raising question on performance of Sindh Police and now even police is not safe from this random burglaries as two police officers were robbed by two armed dacoits as they snatched their motorcycles at gunpoint near Sir Sayed University of Engineering and Technology in Karachi.
