Technical failure in int’l flight, emergency landing at Lahore Airport
Pilot contacted ATC Lahore and reported a technical fault in the aircraft
Lahore: The flight departing from Lahore to Abu Dhabi made a technical landing back at Allama Iqbal International Airport an hour after departure due to a technical problem.
According to aviation authorities, flight EY242 of a foreign airline took off from Lahore to Abu Dhabi at 4:48am. Immediately after the departure, the pilot contacted Air Traffic Control (ATC) Lahore and reported a technical fault in the aircraft.
According to the reports, ATC allowed the plane to land immediately after which flight EY242 landed safely at Allama Iqbal Airport 1.05 hours later.
It is also reported that the passengers have been offloaded from the aircraft and shifted to the lounge and the inspection of the aircraft is ongoing while arrangements are being made for the departure of the passengers to their destination.
According to the spokesperson of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), there was a technical problem in the Airbus A321 (Flight EY242) aircraft.
