Students protested and staged a dharna in front of the Punjab Assembly on Charing Cross Mall Road in Lahore


Lahore: Students of a private college in Lahore are protesting for the second day against the alleged rape of a female student.
According to the details, despite the government's assurances against the alleged rape of a female student of a private college and the announcement of the investigation committee, the students have come out on the roads for the second day to protest.
Students protested and staged a dharna in front of the Punjab Assembly on Charing Cross Mall Road in Lahore. A heavy contingent of police is also present in front of the Punjab Assembly.
In Lahore as well as in other cities of Punjab, college students have joined the protest. Students vandalized the college building on Bosan Road in Multan, on which the police arrested dozens of students while charging them with batons.
A motorcycle rally was taken out by students in Jahanian, while in Zafarwal, students blocked traffic by setting tires on fire, demanding justice and a transparent investigation into the matter.
It is pertinent to note that Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz formed a six-member investigation committee under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary to investigate the matter. While according to the police investigation, there is no truth in the incident and the security guard is denying the incident, while there is no evidence of abuse.
