Liaquat Ali Khan was born in 1896 to Nawab Rustam Ali Khan of Karnal, India

Karachi: The 73rd martyrdom anniversary of Liaquat Ali Khan, the leading leader of the Freedom Movement and the first Prime Minister of Pakistan, is being observed on Wednesday with great devotion.
Liaquat Ali Khan was born in 1896 to Nawab Rustam Ali Khan of Karnal, India.
He understood the different conditions of the Muslims of the subcontinent since his student days, which was why he practically entered the field of politics in 1923 and was elected the Secretary General of the Muslim League in 1936.
Liaquat Ali Khan worked day and night to establish Pakistan as the right hand of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Due to his efforts Muslims voted for the All India Muslim League against the Congress in the 1941 elections and later due to his tireless efforts, on August 14, 1947, a new country came into existence on the world map by the name of Pakistan.
After the death of Quaid-e-Azam, Liaquat Ali Khan performed the duties of the newborn state with great prudence.
On one occasion, in response to India's aggression, Liaquat Ali Khan waved his fist in the air to raise the morale of the nation, seeing that the enemy's intentions proved to be a wall of sand.
On October 16, 1951, while addressing a public meeting in Liaquat Bagh, Rawalpindi, a man named Syed Akbar shot at Liaquat Ali Khan, after which he succumbed to his injuries and committed suicide.
He was honored with the titles of Quaid-e-Millat and Shaheed-e-Millat along with the first Prime Minister.
