Human right activist arrested following altercation with police officers over route obstruction

Islamabad: Islamabad police have arrested human right activist and lawyer Imaan Mazari following a recent altercation with police officers over route obstruction.
The incident, which took place days ago, involved a dispute with law enforcement in which Mazari allegedly removed barriers set up on the route.
A case has been filed at the Abpara police station, listing charges of encroachment and obstruction. Mazari’s husband has also been named in the case as a co-accused.
Authorities state that the arrest and charges are part of an ongoing effort to address public route violations. Further investigation into the case is underway.
