Court granted the PTI founder time till October 31 for consultation with lawyers


Rawalpindi: Former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi could not be indicted in Toshakhana II case even on Tuesday.
Special Judge Central Shahrukh Arjumand heard the Toshakhana II Case against Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in Adiala Jail. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder was presented in the court room while an application for exemption from attendance was filed by wife Bushra Bibi.
Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Prosecutor Umair Majeed opposed Bushra Bibi's request for exemption from attendance and took the position that getting bail does not mean that the accused will not appear in court for the trial. The application for exemption from attendance is also not signed by Bushra. The court had fixed today's date for indictment, the trial of Toshakhana II Case should be conducted on a daily basis.
The court granted Bushra Bibi's request for exemption from attendance and issued a notice to attend the next hearing.
Founder PTI Imran Khan asked the court for time to appoint a lawyer in Toshakhana II Case. He also gave the names of four lawyers including Barrister Ali Zafar, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Salman Akram Raja and Barrister Salman Safdar to the court for consultation. The court granted the PTI founder time till October 31 for consultation with lawyers.
The court directed the jail administration to let Imran Khan meet the lawyers for one hour on Thursday at 3:00pm. This is the last chance to appoint lawyers, if not done, the court will appoint a public lawyer.
Later, the court adjourned the hearing of Toshakhana II Case against former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi till November 2.
