Islamabad: In a tightly contested Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) election, Rauf Atta from the Asma Jahangir Group (AJG) clinched the presidency, narrowly defeating Munir Kakar of the Hamid Khan Group (HKG) by a margin of 19 votes.

Atta won with a total of 350 votes, narrowly surpassing Kakar, who garnered 331 votes. The turnout was strong, with 682 out of 769 registered voters casting their ballots at the Islamabad main polling venue for this year’s annual elections.

In Lahore, Atta further widened his lead, receiving 558 votes compared to Kakar’s 484. Early results from Multan show a decisive win for Atta, as he secured 125 votes to Kakar’s 85.

In Islamabad, where voter engagement remained high, Atta led with 190 votes, while Kakar followed closely with 160. His success continued across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where he narrowly outpaced Kakar in multiple cities.

In Peshawar, Atta received 127 votes against Kakar’s 123. He also achieved smaller yet significant leads in Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, and Abbottabad, among others. In Hyderabad, Atta concluded with 50 votes, surpassing Kakar’s 34, marking a successful end to his campaign across key regions.
