Lahore: A Pakistan International Airline (PIA) flew above Indian airspace for about eight minutes as harsh weather diverted the Lahore-bound flight to India. The plane taken off from Karachi finally landed at the Islamabad airport.

Sources told GNN that the incident took place on Friday last when captain of the plane found the weather conditions unfit for smooth air journey and sought permission from the control towers of Lahore and New Dehli airports to use Indian airspace.
Sources said the emergency decision was taken in the light of passengers' safety.
