Court directed the family and lawyers to meet Imran Khan on Tuesday


Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) directed the family and lawyers to meet Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan on Tuesday.
Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan of IHC heard the contempt petition for not letting the PTI founder meet despite the court order.
Imran Khan's lawyer Faisal Fareed Chaudhry, Superintendent Adiala Jail Abdul Ghafoor Anjum and Advocate General Ayaz Shaukat appeared before the court.
Faisal Chaudhry said that a meeting was scheduled yesterday but the meeting was not held. It was told by the authorities that there was a roadblock in Adiala Jail yesterday which also affects common people. Asad Qaiser and Shibli Faraz were also stopped outside Adiala Jail.
Advocate General Islamabad said that he has submitted a response in this contempt of court case. He has clarified that there are three coordinators as per the court order, but he was not given any list of these six people who wanted to meet.
Lawyer Faisal Farid Chaudhry said that Intizar Panjhotha was the coordinator who was missing and they had submitted the list.
Justice Sardar Ejaz Khan while talking to the Advocate General stated that you are saying that the list has not been given, they are saying that the list has been given. Please tell me when will you allow the meeting. The list is provided right now.
Superintendent Adiala Jail said that their doctors check up on the PTI founder three times a day. Thursday is reserved for family, lawyers, and doctors. Wednesday is for political leaders and friends.
The Advocate General told the court that there would be a meeting next week, as the SOPs have been fixed. Three coordinators were appointed as per the court order. They had to submit six names who could meet.
Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan asked who will meet the founder of PTI. A conflict has emerged between the prison authorities and the coordinator of Imran Khan. He will submit a list of family, friends, and lawyers whom he wants to meet. Superintendent Adiala Jail will send the list of Imran Khan to the Advocate General. Hopefully, this will end the conflict between the prison authorities and the lawyers of Imran Khan.
He said that he would form a commission and meet Imran Khan in jail.
The court directed the family and lawyers to meet Imran Khan on Tuesday. It was also ordered to send a copy of the list from PTI founder to PTI Secretary Salman Akram Raja.
