No more delay in passports
40,000 passports are being printed daily, compared to the previous daily capacity of 20,000
Islamabad: The issue of delay in the release of passports to those going abroad has been resolved.
The installation process of new modern passport printers has been completed and the printing capacity of the passport department has doubled with the new printers.
Passport and Immigration officials said that with the help of 10 new printers, the production capacity has doubled. 40,000 passports are being printed daily, compared to the previous daily capacity of 20,000.
DG Passports Mustafa Jamal Qazi stated that seven more modern machines will soon reach the passport headquarters. Two printers have also been procured for printing e-passports.
He further said that the advent of modern printers will see a staggering increase in printing capacity, eliminating the backlog daily after the increase in capacity.
