Diamer: A passenger bus plunged into a river in Gilgit-Baltistan's Diamir district on Tuesday, drowning 22 people. Rescue 1122 officials managed to rescue one person.

The ill-fated bus coming from Astore fell into the Indus River from Telchi bridge. The vehicle was part of a wedding procession heading towards Punjab’s Chakwal district.
President Asif Ali Zardari expressed his grief and conveyed his condolences to the victims’ relatives.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of precious human lives due to the falling down of a vehicle into a river in Gilgit Baltistan.
She expressed heartfelt sympathies and condolence with the bereaved families.
