Meeting was requested by Elon Musk, while the location was chosen by Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations

New York: Elon Musk, advisor to US President-elect Donald Trump, met with Iran’s permanent representative to the United Nations.
US media have confirmed the meeting between Elon Musk and Amir Saeid Iravani, citing two Iranian officials.
According to US media, Iranian officials said that the two personalities discussed issues related to ending tensions between the two countries.
US media reported that the hour-long meeting between the two leaders took place at a secret location in New York. Representatives of the Biden administration at the United Nations were not even informed about the meeting.
According to the report, the meeting was requested by Elon Musk, while the location was chosen by Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations.
It is also reported that the Iranian official said that Ambassador Iravani urged Elon Musk to ask the US Treasury Department to lift sanctions on Iran and invited him to bring some of his business to Tehran.
US media said that the Iranian mission to the United Nations has denied that the permanent representative met with Elon Musk, but no response has been received from Elon Musk's team yet.
US President-elect Donald Trump said during the election campaign that he wants to end wars, but Trump's communications director Steven Shearing said that he would not comment on private meetings that have or have not taken place.
Meanwhile, during the interim period, spokeswoman Caroline Liu said that the American people elected Donald Trump as president because they trusted him to lead the country back to peace through force, and he will do the same after taking office.
Donald Trump had terminated the Iran nuclear deal during his first term and imposed more sanctions on Tehran.
Donald Trump himself also ordered the killing of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani in Iraq.
After this, Iran's Supreme Leader ended negotiations with the Trump administration and threatened to avenge the killing of General Soleimani.
Before the news of the meeting, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi met with the head of the United Nations nuclear watchdog and later said that differences could be resolved through cooperation and negotiations.
He stated that Iran agreed to move forward with courage and good faith, and has never left the negotiating table on the issue of a peaceful nuclear program.
It is pertinent to note that a few days ago, newly elected US President Donald Trump announced that Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy would take over the Department of Government Efficiency in his new cabinet.
