Judge remarked that transport department should inspect vehicles every three months

Justice Shahid Karim of LHC heard the petitions for control of smog filed by citizen Haroon Farooq and others.
The court remarked during the case that students should come to school by school transport. The school administration that does not follow the orders should be sealed. No school should write to the parents that they would not take responsibility for the children.
Justice Shahid Karim stated that the transport authorities should formulate and submit a policy regarding the fitness of vehicles within 15 days. He remarked that the transport department should inspect the vehicles every three months.
The Lahore High Court ordered that the transport department should issue fitness certificates to the vehicles and have data on all public and private buses.
The court directed three-year-old Amal Sukhera to inaugurate mobile units to check the fitness of vehicles and adjourned the proceedings until November 26.
