Islamabad: The bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the President of Belarus reaffirmed the commitment to further strengthen cooperation and economic and trade relations.
Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the President of Belarus upon his arrival at the Prime Minister’s House, after which he thanked the Prime Minister for the warm welcome and hospitality in Pakistan.
Prime Minister said that Pakistan values its relations with Belarus and this visit will help open new avenues of cooperation and partnership between the two countries.
A variety of topics including trade, investment, defense cooperation, and regional issues were discussed in the meeting.
The two leaders expressed satisfaction over the positive progress in all aspects of Pakistan-Belarus relations and also exchanged views on global and regional developments.
It is pertinent to note that President Lukashenko arrived in Islamabad on a three-day visit and signed eight Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements, including those on promoting trade between Pakistan and Belarus.
