Instagram now allows live location-sharing
Instagram users will be able to share live locations in Direct Messages (DMs)

California: Instagram has introduced a new feature that will allow users to share their live location.
This feature will work exactly like the live location-sharing feature in WhatsApp.
Instagram users will be able to share live locations in Direct Messages (DMs).
With this feature, users will be able to share their location for up to an hour at a time and pin specific locations on the map.
The live location-sharing option will only be available in one-on-one or group chats.
Only the people involved in the chat will be able to see the location, but they will not be able to forward it to other chats.
When you share a location, an indicator will appear above the chat, and you can share at any time.
Instagram has also introduced a customizable nickname feature for Direct Messages which lets the users add a nickname for themselves and their friends that will also appear in DM chats.
