SRK becomes biggest celebrity taxpayer of India
Khan topped the list with a tax payment of INR920 million


Mumbai: The income of Bollywood celebrities in India is often in the news, in which the income of superstars is under discussion, but this time a report has been released on the tax paid by Bollywood stars.
Two months ago, Fortune India released a list of the highest taxpayers in India during 2023-24, in which Bollywood King Shah Rukh Khan topped the list with a tax payment of INR920 million.
According to Indian media reports, Shah Rukh's films did a business of INR26 billion at the box office last year. After Shah Rukh, the next name on the list is Vijay, who is associated with the Tamil industry and is popular among fans as Thalapathy.
According to reports, 50-year-old star Vijay paid a tax of Rs800 million. After the two big actors in this list, Salman Khan is in the third position with a tax payment of Rs750 million.
According to the list, during 2023-24, Amitabh Bachchan paid Rs710 million and Virat Kohli paid Rs660 million in tax.
No Indian actress is included in the top 10 in this list, but after the top ten, actress Kareena Kapoor is listed who paid a tax of Rs200 million.
It is pertinent to note that Shah Rukh Khan made his comeback to Bollywood with the film Pathan in January 2023 which did a business of more than INR10 worldwide.
After Pathan, Shah Rukh's next film was Jawan, which did a business of INR11.5 billion worldwide. However, his last film 'Dunki' last year was not that much of a hit, but despite this, it still did a business of more than INR4 billion worldwide.
Due to the success and record-breaking business of these films, Shah Rukh remained at the top of the list of the highest tax-paying personalities in India.
