Terrorists wanted to target an important government building in Lahore


Lahore: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Punjab arrested 34 terrorists during 242 Intelligence-Based Operations (IBOs) in different cities of Punjab this month, because of the terrorism concerns.
According to the CTD spokesperson, these operations were carried out in Lahore, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Narowal, Sargodha, Chakwal, Jhelum, Attock, Gujrat, Bhakkar, and Rahim Yar Khan.
The spokesperson said that 11 highly risky terrorists of Fitna-al-Khawarij and other organizations were arrested from Lahore along with explosive materials and maps of important buildings.
According to the CTD Punjab spokesperson, explosive devices, 28 detonators, 89 feet of safety fuse wire, bullets, weapons, a hand grenade, four IED bombs, Prima cards, mobile phones, prohibited pamphlets, and cash were recovered from the terrorists.
According to the spokesperson, the terrorists were identified as Zubair, Aslam, Abu Bakr, Fida Hussain, Fahad Saleem, Saifullah, Nafees, Israr, Haji Shah, and Abdullah etc. The terrorists wanted to target an important government building in Lahore.
The spokesperson said that during 7,536 combing operations this month, 637 suspects were arrested and 2,35,630 people were questioned in combing operations.
CTD spokesperson added that they are pursuing the goal of a safe Punjab and are determined to uproot the scourge of terrorism.
