Petitioner’s lawyer said that people are facing difficulties due to slow internet and their businesses are being affected

Peshawar: The Peshawar High Court (IHC) sought a response from the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of IT on the slowdown of internet service.
A two-member bench of the PHC comprising Justice Waqar Ahmed and Justice Kamran Hayat Miankhel heard a petition filed against the slowdown of internet service in the country.
During the hearing, the petitioner’s lawyer said that people are facing difficulties due to the slow internet and their businesses are being affected.
Justice Waqar Ahmed asked, “Do you mean the government does not accept that the internet has been slowed down?” To this, the petitioner’s lawyer said that in case of protests, the government takes down the internet and also informs in advance.
Later, the court ordered the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Information Technology to present details regarding the slowdown of the internet at the next hearing.
