SC Constitutional Bench to hear important cases next week

Islamabad: The Supreme Court Constitutional Bench Committee has scheduled important cases for hearing next week.

The Supreme Court Constitutional Bench Committee issued the cause list for next week. According to the cause list, a seven-member constitutional bench headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan will hear the cases next week.

The bench will include Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Hassan Rizvi, Justice Musarat Hilali, Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan, and Justice Shahid Bilal.

Petition to form judicial commission on May 9 tragedy

According to the cause list issued by the Constitutional Bench Committee, the Supreme Court has scheduled the petition to form a judicial commission on the May 9 tragedy for hearing.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder had filed a petition in the Supreme Court for an investigation into the May 9 tragedy.

A seven-member constitutional bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan will hear the petition on December 10. PTI founder has requested in the petition to declare the military court trial of the civilian null and void.

PTI founder Contempt of Court Case

The contempt of court case against the PTI founder for violating the court orders of May 25 has also been scheduled for hearing in the Supreme Court.

A seven-member constitutional bench headed by Justice Aminuddin will also hear this case on December 10.

It is pertinent to note that the federal government had filed a contempt of court petition for violating the court orders on May 25.

Petition against rigging in Feb 8 elections

PTI founder’s petition against rigging in the February 8, 2024 general elections has been scheduled for hearing.

A seven-member constitutional bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Aminuddin will hear it on December 11.

It is pertinent to note that the PTI founder had filed a petition in the Supreme Court for a judicial commission to investigate the elections.

Petition to transfer PTI founder to KP Jail

The Supreme Court has also scheduled a hearing for the petition to transfer PTI founder from Adiala Jail to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Jail.

A seven-member constitutional bench headed by Justice Aminuddin will hear the petition on December 10.

It is pertinent to note that a citizen had filed a petition to transfer PTI founder from jail due to security reasons.

Arshad Sharif murder suo motu case

The Supreme Court has scheduled the suo motu case of senior journalist Arshad Sharif's murder for hearing.

Justice Aminuddin has formed a seven-member constitutional bench to hear the suo motu case. The bench will hear the case on December 9.

Justice Jamal Mandokhel, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Hassan Rizvi, Justice Mussarat Hilali, Justice Naeem Afghan, and Justice Shahid Bilal are included in the bench.

Intra-court appeals against military courts

A seven-member constitutional bench of the Supreme Court has been formed to hear intra-court appeals against the decisions of military courts.

A seven-member constitutional bench headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan will hear the intra-court appeals on December 9.

Justice Jamal Mandokhel, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Hassan Rizvi, Justice Mussarat Hilali, Justice Naeem Afghan, and Justice Shahid Bilal are included in the constitutional bench.

Petitions against Practice and Procedure Ordinance

The Supreme Court has also scheduled the hearing of petitions against the Practice and Procedure Ordinance, and a seven-member constitutional bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Aminuddin will hear the petitions on December 12.

Petition against registration of cases against PTI leaders

The Supreme Court has also scheduled the hearing of a petition against the registration of cases against PTI leaders.

A seven-member constitutional bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Aminuddin will hear the petition on December 10.

It is pertinent to note that PTI leader Seemabia Tahir has filed a petition in the Supreme Court.

Petition against ECP chief appointment

A petition against the appointment of Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja has also been scheduled for hearing in the Supreme Court.

A seven-member bench headed by Justice Aminuddin will hear the petition on December 11, filed by citizen Mahmood Akhtar Naqvi.

Petitions against eviction of illegal Afghan residents

The petitions filed in the Supreme Court against the eviction of illegal Afghan residents have also been scheduled for hearing. A seven-member constitutional bench headed by Justice Aminuddin will hear it on December 9.

It is pertinent to note that Farhatullah Babar had approached the Supreme Court against the caretaker government’s decision to return Afghan residents.

Case of children’s deaths in Mithi Hospital

The case of deaths of children in Mithi Hospital, Sindh, has been scheduled for hearing before the constitutional bench of the Supreme Court.

A seven-member bench headed by Justice Aminuddin will hear the case on December 9, while the court has issued notices to the Sindh government and the relevant authorities.

Phone tapping case pending since 1993

A 31-year-old phone tapping case has also been set for hearing in the Supreme Court.

A seven-member constitutional bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan will hear the phone tapping case pending since 1993 on December 11.

The seven-member constitutional bench headed by Justice Aminuddin includes Justice Jamal Mandokhel, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Hassan Rizvi, Justice Musarat Hilali, Justice Naeem Afghan, and Justice Shahid Bilal.
