This year’s theme is, “Unite with Youth Against Corruption, Building Tomorrow’s Integrity”


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said that corruption is a heinous challenge, the people should support the government in eliminating corruption.
On the occasion of International Anti-Corruption Day, Shehbaz Sharif, in his special message, reiterated the government’s commitment to eliminate corruption and urged all citizens to play their role in establishing a transparent and accountable society.
The Prime Minister said that this day, celebrated on December 9, reminds us that there is a need to strengthen global efforts against corruption.
Appreciating this year’s theme, “Unite with Youth Against Corruption, Building Tomorrow’s Integrity”, he stated that the young generation can play a key role in eliminating corruption and establishing a transparent system.
Shehbaz Sharif added that corruption is a heinous challenge to the economy and social structure of any country. It deprives nations of their capabilities and people of equal opportunities and the benefits of fair governance.
The Prime Minister further said that due to corruption, development resources cannot be properly utilized, which increases inequality and affects the delivery of public services, resulting in a lack of trust between the government and the citizens.
He stressed that his government is committed to fighting corruption at all levels. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and other law enforcement agencies are acting against corrupt elements to end the looting of public resources.
The Prime Minister also appreciated the active role of the media and said that the involvement of the media is indispensable in promoting transparency and accountability.
On the occasion of this day, he appealed to all Pakistanis to support the government in the campaign against corruption and strive for a Pakistan where the rule of law and accountability are assured for all.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif further said that let us unite and create a future where public resources are effectively used for the welfare of the people and every citizen can live a life based on justice and honesty.
