Cold intensifies across country, rain likely in Lahore today

Lahore: The intensity of cold has increased in various cities of the country, including the provincial capital Lahore, while there is also a possibility of rain in Lahore on Monday.

According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Lahore is likely to reach 7 degrees Celsius, and drizzle is also expected in Lahore today.

According to weather forecasters, the wind is blowing at 3 kilometers per hour in Lahore, and the humidity in the air has reached 84 percent.

On the other hand, Lahore still ranks first in Pakistan and third in the world in terms of air pollution, the average smog rate in the city has reached 190.

The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Bhobtian Chowk and its surroundings in Lahore reached 300, 281 near the US Consulate, 272 in Johar Town, and 231 in DHA Phase VIII.

On the other hand, the mountains were covered in a white blanket of snow due to snowfall in the Neelum Valley. The snowfall that occurred late last night further enhanced the beauty of the Neelum Valley. The snowfall increased the intensity of the cold while the temperature was recorded at -6.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has predicted dry weather and cold winds in most areas of Balochistan, saying that the weather will remain extremely cold in the morning and night in the mountainous areas. The minimum temperature in Quetta was -3 and -6 degrees Celsius in Kalat.

The Meteorological Department has predicted that the cold wave will continue till December 14.

Cold weather has also set up camp in Karachi and the temperature in the city has reached 10 degrees, in Islamabad is 3, in Peshawar 6, in Nokundi was recorded at zero, Gwadar at 7, and Sibi at 9 degrees Celsius.

Severe cold is also prevailing in the Ziarat Valley, water in tanks and pipes has turned to ice, freezing winds in Ziarat have paralyzed life and gas has disappeared.

People in Ziarat are facing severe difficulties due to the lack of gas in the severe cold.
