Judge Mian Javed declared Chaudhry Moonis a proclaimed offender
Gujarat: The court declared Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former federal minister Chaudhry Moonis Elahi a proclaimed offender in a double murder case.
Gujarat Additional Sessions Judge Mian Javed Akram declared Chaudhry Moonis a proclaimed offender. He and others were accused of shooting and killing Chakriyan residents Yasir and Muhammad Yousuf on June 28, 2023.
According to the police, the accused Muhammad Akhtar, who was nominated in the same case, died in jail during the trial. Elahi was nominated in this case after the First Information Report (FIR) accused revealed his involvement. The former federal minister was nominated as an accused of abetment under Section 109.
It is pertinent to note that the double murder case was registered at Mangowal police station on June 29, 2023. The decision to declare Chaudhry Moonis Elahi a proclaimed offender in the case consists of 19 pages.
