Islamabad: Federal Minister for Energy Hammad Azhar has said that the government has successfully overcome the circular debt crisis as only an Rs177 billion increase in circular debt is expected this year owing to the effective steps taken by the government.

In a tweet, the minister said Rs360 billion decrease was expected in the circular debt this fiscal year 2020-21 as compared to the previous financial year.
حکومت کے موثر اقدامات کے نتیجے میں مالی سال 2020-21میں گردشی قرضے میں پچھلے مالی سال کے مقابلے میں 360ارب روپے کی کمی متوقع ہے حکومت نے اس شدید بحران پر کامیابی سے قابو پا لیاہے اس سال گردشی قرضے میں اضافہ صرف 177ارب روپے متوقع ہے جبکہ پچھلے سال یہ اضافہ 538ارب روپے تھا.

He said last year, the increase in circular debt was Rs538 billion.
In another Tweet, the minister said due to the dry docking of one RLNG terminal & low water flows in Tarbela Dam, some power plants are not operating at full capacity. This has led to load shedding on some feeders.

However, dry docking procedure will be completed on Monday & water levels in Tarbela are improving. 1/2
Hammad added, "We also expect Tarbela Dam, currently operating at only 25% of capacity, to start generating more power by next week and normalise the situation."
