148th birth anniversary, guards changing ceremony at Quaid's mausoleum

Karachi: The Pakistani nation is celebrating the 148th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, with traditional enthusiasm. A grand ceremony of changing the guards has been held at the Quaid-e-Azam Mausoleum, in which a smart and elegant contingent of the Pakistan Military Academy Kakul assumed the duties of the guards.

Today is a public holiday on the occasion of the Father of the Nation’s birthday, while the national flag is being hoisted on all government and private buildings.

The day began with a gun salute in the federal and provincial capitals. A grand ceremony of changing the guards was held at the Quaid-e-Azam Mausoleum in Karachi, in which a smart and elegant contingent of the Pakistan Military Academy Kakul assumed the duties of the guards.

On this occasion, Commandant Military Academy Kakul Major General Iftikhar Hassan Chaudhry saluted the Quaid-e-Azam Mausoleum, laid a wreath, and recorded his impressions in the guest book after reciting Fateha. There will also be a Quran recitation at the Quaid-e-Azam Mausoleum on the Father of the Nation’s birthday.

The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, the three Services Chiefs, and the Armed Forces of Pakistan have paid tribute to the Father of the Nation.

A statement issued by the ISPR said that the Armed Forces pay tribute to the eternal vision and unparalleled leadership of the Quaid-e-Azam. The tireless efforts of the Father of the Nation united the people. He laid the foundation for an independent and free Pakistan.

The statement further said that today is a day to renew the unwavering commitment to the guiding principles of the Quaid-e-Azam - unity, faith, and discipline.
