Melbourne: Australia defeated India by 184 runs in the fourth Test match played in Melbourne.
After this defeat, India's dreams of playing in the Test Championship were also shattered.

Nine players of the Indian team could not even enter double figures. Indian captain Rohit Sharma could only score nine and Virat Kohli could only score five runs.
It is pertinent to note that Australia has a 2-1 lead in the five-match Test series. The last Test will start in Sydney on January 3.
On the other hand, a new record of fan attendance was set in the fourth Test between India and Australia, during which more than 350,700 fans came to the field at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in five days.
According to a report by the renowned cricket website, 350,534 cricket fans had previously visited the field in 1937.
