Inside story of the meeting of Parliamentary Committee on National Security
Islamabad: The in-camera meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security commenced at the Parliament House on Thursday under the chairmanship of National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser.

According to GNN sources, the briefing that lasted more than 8 hours was completely professional.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa responded to every query on Afghan issue with arguments and background. Director-General Inter-Services Intelligence (DG ISI) Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameed took members of meeting in confidence about contacts and meetings to bring warring Afghan groups on one table.
During the session, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif said that such meetings should be commenced more often as they address key concerns.
The military leadership said that they are not part of any camp and their only camp is Pakistan adding that there is no military solution to Afghan issue and even United States (US) is aware of that.
The military leadership further said that the Afghan problem can only be resolved through political dialogue and Pakistan will not fight anyone's battle anymore as it cost the country immensely in past. The military leadership added that Pakistan's security and sovereignty is of utmost important; therefore, country would not indulge in any more conflicts.
It was further briefed in the meeting that it is up to Afghan people to elect their top leadership.
