Peshawar: In a tragic incident, two people including a police officer were killed while two others sustained serious injuries in an armed clash between to rival groups ensued by a dog fight.

As per details, the groups were indulged in a ‘Dog fighting’ sport which has been banned in Pakistan.
Following the tournament, the rival groups opened fire at each other, resulting in two causalities.
Rescue teams and police reached the spot after getting information and shifted the deceased and injured to nearby hospital.
The dead bodies will undergo a postmortem.
Police has started an investigation into the incident. However the accused is still at large.
The organisers of this illegal sport can be sentenced to jail for up to six months and would also be liable to pay heavy fine. Thereby, these tournaments are carried out unofficially via scheduled meetings by breeders, who decide the fight dates and the venue.
People indulging in this bloody passion have a fairly tinted concept of entertainment where their snarling dogs battle, tear and bite in duels that lead to either victory or death.
Millions of rupees can be at stake for the masters of the winning dogs.
In addition, an intense dog fight can easily carry on for an hour. At the end of this dreadful event, one can see dogs with ghastly injuries including ears torn apart, windpipes ruptured, eyes gouged out and tongues bitten off etc.
