Citizens, especially overseas Pakistanis, were facing difficulties in using website
Islamabad: The Ministry of Interior has decided to launch a new NADRA mobile app and establish three new regional offices.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that the Pak ID website will be closed on January 17 and all services will be provided on the mobile app. Citizens, especially overseas Pakistanis, were facing difficulties in using the website.
He stated that the candidates had difficulty in scanning and uploading fingerprints and required documents. Fraudulent elements were doing business in making identity documents through fake websites. They were trying to misuse the personal information of citizens by obtaining them.
Mohsin Naqvi added that to prevent these activities, the website is being shut down from January 17. The Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have taken strict notice of the fraudulent elements. NADRA is ensuring action against these elements in collaboration with other institutions.
The Interior Minister further said that NADRA's mobile app has been greatly improved. All services, including CNIC, NAICOP, POC, B Form, and FRC, are available on the mobile app. Citizens can complete all the processing of identity documents on the mobile app while sitting at home.
He also stated that three new regional offices of NADRA are also being established in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gwadar, and Gilgit-Baltistan that will start functioning on March 31. The establishment of these offices will facilitate communication between NADRA officials and citizens.
He continued to say that the establishment of regional offices will improve the provision of services in NADRA centers in remote areas. The problems of citizens will be resolved quickly and complaints will be redressed immediately. The target of establishing NADRA offices in all tehsils of the country by March 31 will be achieved.
Mohsin Naqvi said that NADRA offices were yet to be established in only 19 tehsils across the country, work in this regard is progressing rapidly, and NADRA offices will also be functional in these tehsils by March 31.
