Islamabad: The government has appointed Justice (retd) Faqir Muhammad Khokhar as the head of the Missing Persons Commission.
During the hearing of the case in the Supreme Court, the Additional Attorney General told the court that the government has appointed Justice (r) Faqir Khokhar as the head of the Missing Persons Commission in place of Justice (r) Javed Iqbal.
The Additional Attorney General said in the court that the government wants to establish a Missing Persons Tribunal through legislation and a cabinet committee is working to enact the legislation.
On this occasion, Justice Jamal Mandokhel stated that the law already exists. Making someone disappear is a crime. If someone has committed a crime, then they should be tried, if not, then they should be released.
