Additional Registrar Judicial challenges show cause notice for contempt of court

Islamabad: Additional Registrar Judicial Nazar Abbas of the Supreme Court has challenged the show cause notice of contempt of court.

Nazar Abbas also filed a petition for a stay order on the contempt of court proceedings. The Supreme Court has formed a six-member bench on Nazar Abbas’s intra-court appeal.

A bench has been formed under the chairmanship of Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel. Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Athar Minallah, Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi, Justice Shahid Waheed, and Justice Masrat Hilali are part of the formed bench.

The Supreme Court has fixed Nazar Abbas’s intra-court appeal for hearing on January 27, Monday. A six-member larger bench will hear the intra-court appeal at 1:00pm.

It is pertinent to note that a few days ago, the Supreme Court removed Additional Registrar Judicial Nazar Abbas from his post, declaring him guilty of serious misconduct.
