Islamabad: The appeal against the acquittal of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and his wife Bushra Bibi in the iddat case has been sent to the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

The appeals against the acquittal of PTI founder and his wife Bushra Bibi in the iddat case were heard by an Additional Judge Justice Azam Khan of the IHC. Zahid Asif Chaudhry, Iqbal Kakar, and others appeared in the court on behalf of the petitioner Khawar Maneka, while Ali Bukhari, Shoaib Shaheen, Niazullah Niazi, and others appeared on behalf of the PTI founder.

Zahid Asif Chaudhry told the court that they had challenged the acquittal decision of the Additional Sessions Judge of July 13, 2024. On this occasion, Shoaib Shaheen said that before giving arguments, he wanted to say something. ‘You have first disclosed your mind; the case should be transferred to another bench’.

Justice Azam Khan remarked on Shoaib's statement that we had heard a review petition against an order. ‘We send the file to the Chief Justice to constitute a new bench’.

Later, the court sent the file of the appeal against the acquittal of PTI founder and Bushra Bibi to the Chief Justice. The case has been sent to Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Aamer Farooq to constitute a new bench.
