AGP Mansoor informed Constitutional Bench about position of federal govt regarding decision

Islamabad: The federal government has decided to challenge the order regarding the formation of a full court in the contempt of court case of Senior Supreme Court Judge Justice Mansoor Ali Shah against Additional Registrar Judicial Nazar Abbas.
During the hearing of the Customs Regulator Duty case in the Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court, Attorney General Mansoor Awan informed the Constitutional Bench about the position of the federal government regarding the decision.
During the hearing, the Attorney General said that Justice Mansoor Ali Shah exercised the power of suo motu notice in the decision. He could not have exercised this power. The federal government will challenge it since it is an unconstitutional decision. They will file an appeal against yesterday’s contempt of court decision to appeal the decisions of Justice Mansoor Ali Shah on January 13 and 16.
Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar stated that Justice Mansoor has ordered the customs duty case to be placed in his bench, can they move forward in the presence of this order?
Justice Jamal Mandokhel added that not only a few people but everyone is concerned about the independence of the judiciary. Whatever work they do, they should do it properly. What a doomsday has come, this is also the court. There is no trust in life. The Supreme Court and the courts have to survive. We have to take care of our institution. No one should worry. Nothing will happen to the institution.
