Boyzone shares the highs and lows of 30 years in ‘No Matter What’
The documentary will be available on Sky Documentaries and NOW starting February 2

London: Boyzone, the famous Irish boy band, is reuniting 30 years after their formation to share their journey in a new three-part documentary series called “Boyzone: No Matter What”.
The series looks back at their rise to fame, from their early auditions in Dublin in 1993 to the highs and lows of their career over the next three decades.
Lead singer Ronan Keating explained that in the '90s, social media didn’t exist, so the documentary is a way to show fans what their lives were really like behind the scenes. "It’s not an easy watch," Keating said. "It’s tough, upsetting at times, but also funny and full of laughter." He said they now have the full story to tell, with a clear beginning, middle, and end after 30 years.
The group, originally formed by pop manager Louis Walsh, achieved huge success worldwide, selling over 25 million records. Their hits included ‘Love Me for a Reason’, ‘Words’, and ‘Picture of You’.
Boyzone split in 2000 when Ronan Keating launched a solo career, but they later reunited. Tragically, band member Stephen Gately passed away in 2009 at the age of 33.
The documentary includes interviews with the band, Stephen’s sister, Louis Walsh, and journalists, sharing personal stories, including the emotional impact of Gately’s death. Michael Graham, who is not attending the premiere, also shares his experience.
Keating and bandmate Keith Duffy described the filming process as intense, with hours spent revisiting old footage and sharing personal thoughts. "It was like therapy," said Duffy. The documentary will be available on Sky Documentaries and NOW starting February 2.
