ICC’s Player of the Month nominations include three spinners


The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the nominations for the Men’s Player of the Month award for January 2025.
The ICC’s Player of the Month nominations include three spinners.
According to the ICC, Pakistan’s Nauman Ali, West Indies’ Jameel Warrick, and India’s Varun Chakravarthy have been nominated for the Player of the Month.
Nauman Ali took a total of 16 wickets in the two-Test series against the West Indies in January.
Left-arm spinner Nauman Ali also took a hat-trick in the second Test against the West Indies, after which he became the first spinner to take a hat-trick in Tests for Pakistan.

On the other hand, West Indies’ Jamil Warrick, who was nominated for the Player of the Month, also showed an excellent performance in the Test series against Pakistan and took a total of 19 wickets in two Test matches.
Jamil Warrick also won the Player of the Series award.
In addition, India's Varun Chakravarthy bowled brilliantly in the home T20 series against England, taking a total of 12 wickets in the five-match series.
